Karawatha Cottages provides luxurious accommodation in the heart of the McLaren Vale Wine Region and offers its guests a selection self-guided walks, cycling trails, as wells as organised 'food and wine experiences'.
The elevated position of the cottages in the heart of the Blewitt Springs area of the beautiful McLaren Vale wine region offers guests sublime views over the surrounding vineyards and ranges - a world away from everything, yet just a short 5 min drive away from McLaren Vale township.
Better still - there are 3 cellar doors to walk to, all within 500 metre of your cottage; or embark on our self-guided "vineyard walking tour" and visit 5 cellar doors on your way; you will just have to decide whether to walk clock or anti-clockwise in order to finish the walk either at the Woodstock Wines Coterie Restaurant or the award winning The Currant Shed restaurant.
Karawatha Cottages offers a choice of 3 stylish, private cottages (UNWIND, RELISH and PONDER). Each of the cottages features a private deck overlooking the vineyards and Mount Lofty ranges. The cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, wood heater (gas log heater for 'Ponder'), reverse cycle air con, smart TV, generous bathroom with rain shower and separate bedroom (2 bedrooms for 'Relish').
A shared BBQ patio with open fire place is available for all guests.

We are just a short drive from the McLaren Vale township; simply follow signs towards McLaren Flat / Kangarilla; upon entering McLaren Flat, take a left turn into Blewitt Springs Rd and continue on Blewitt Springs Rd for about 2.8 km (Note: you will have to take a left turn right after the Beresford Tasting Pavilion to stay on Blewitt Springs Rd.).
Karawatha Cottages are at 285 Blewitt Springs Rd., right next to Geddes Wines and a short stroll from the Beresford and Woodstock cellar doors.
Cancellation policy
Here is some important information about your stay, plus a few select but important terms and conditions applicable to your booking; please read those carefully, to avoid surprises or disappointment at a later stage:
***Number of Guests Staying***
The cottages may only be occupied by the number of persons booked and shown in your confirmation letter. A change-over mid-stay (different guests staying for different days of your stay) is not possible.
Karawatha Cottages reserves the right to refuse entry to and occupation of the property, if the number of people intended to occupy exceed the booking confirmation.
Bringing additional guests (including but not limited to babies and children) will result in additional charges (if within the maximum occupancy permit of the cottage) or an immediate cancellation of your booking without refund (if total number of guests exceeds the maximum occupancy permit of the cottage).
***Visitors***
For the comfort and security of all our guests (plus for operating and for insurance compliance), no visitors are allowed at any time anywhere on the property. Parties and functions are strictly prohibited.
For the avoidance of doubt: a simple drop-off or pick-up (e.g. wine tours, bike or food delivery) is always possible, but the no-visitor policy does include any vendors that intend to be on the property for any period of time, e.g. hair dresser, make-up artists, photographers, etc.
***Wedding or Bridal Parties and other wedding preparations***
We cannot accommodate any wedding parties or wedding preparations of any kind. This includes ‘traditional’ pre-wedding stays with bridesmaids or grooms-men, but also the use of external service providers inside the cottage like hair dressers, make-up artists, etc. for anyone (see also no-visitor policy).
